Reuben Modek is an Israeli-born rabbi who served North American communities for over 30 years. As a spiritual guide, and life-coach Rabbi Modek supports inner development for individuals and groups. He had practiced a diversity of Western and Eastern disciplines from Tantra Yoga and Tai Chi to Co-Counselling and Jungian Men’s Work. Rabbi Modek crafts heartfelt personal Bar and Bat Mitzvah ceremonies, blending alignment and Jewish wisdom. Known for his calm presence, he helps families profoundly experience Israel as a living context for both Jewish and universal spirituality.

Rabbi Reuben was everything we hoped for in preparing our son Julian for his Bar Mitzvah. He was kind and patient and had a wonderful way of keeping Julian curious and engaged. He made their sessions fun and interesting and Julian genuinely looked forward to their time together each week. When some nerves crept in the day before the Bar Mitzvah, Rabbi Reuben took the time to calmly and gently put him at ease.
The ceremony itself felt so personal and natural, and so many of our guests told us it was one of the most beautiful and touching services they had attended.
What means the most to us is that the Bar Mitzvah didn’t feel like the end of something. Julian wants to continue meeting with Rabbi Reuben and keep learning and growing as a Jewish young adult. We couldn’t have hoped for more from the experience and are so grateful to Rabbi Reuben for all of his support.

Rabbi, Olivier’s bar mitzvah at the Kotel was simply unforgettable .Thank you for guiding Olivier, for teaching him, and for helping him understand not only what a bar mitzvah is, but what it means. You have helped bring depth, context, and meaning to this moment for him. That is a gift, and our family is very grateful.

We are truly grateful to Rabbi Reuben Modek for officiating at our son, Shai’s, Bar Mitzvah in the beautiful Tunisian Synagogue in Jerusalem. Rabbi Modek’s kindness, patience, and gentle guidance made all the difference in preparing Shai for his ceremony. He thoughtfully customized the ceremony as well as seamlessly blended English and Hebrew, making sure our relatives from Israel and guests from the US felt fully included. Rabbi Modek’s leadership added so much meaning to our celebration. We highly recommend him. Thank You Rabbi Reuben Modek for an unforgettable Bar Mitzvah

Rabbi Modek did a great job preparing Jake for the ceremony. Jake had a thorough overview of Judaism’s history, and traditions. Jake wanted to learn Hebrew. With the Rabbi’s skillful instruction and much practice he actually was able to accomplish it. The ceremony was super meaningful for both Jake and our family. We also appreciated it that with Rabbi Modek we could “break the mold”, because our family had stepped away from conventional religion, and chose to creatively reconnect when Jake was already 17.

Rabbi Modek was very accommodating. Having previously not engaged myself in Judaism and not having a traditional ceremony until the age of 17, my experience here was very meaningful. Rabbi Modek did an excellent job of educating me about Judaism and teaching me Hebrew, making this a fun and enjoyable process. I very much owe Rabbi Modek for helping me reclaim my Jewish heritage and culture.

Our daughter found Rabbi Modek online and the two of them immediately hit it off. The Rabbi worked with her, her schedule and her Hebrew abilities. Our outdoors venue by the water was great, the service was perfect, and the Rabbi was an inspiration. We added a Cantor, and the music elevated the ceremony. The Rabbi even had a sense of humor. Seriously, we truly like Rabbi Modek.

My son’s BM ceremony was unique and memorable. It was held at the historical mountaintop of Masada, overlooking the Dead Sea. The Perfect location. Rabbi Modek made our son’s ceremony personalized, intimate and stress free. He created a program that we could easily follow along and made sure that everyone who attended the ceremony took an active part in it. We highly recommend Rabbi Modek to anyone looking for an amazing Bar Mitzvah experience in Israel.

Absolutely. My approach is rooted in inclusivity and universal spiritual values. We specialize in creating ceremonies that honor Jewish tradition while embracing the diverse backgrounds of all family members. Our goal is to create a space where everyone feels seen, respected, and deeply connected to the celebration.
The beauty of Israel is our canvas. We hold ceremonies in breathtaking natural settings-from the serene hills of the Galilee and the mystical ruins of ancient synagogues to quiet desert overlooks or classical locations, such as the Kotel or Masada. You can choose a location that calls to you, encountering the vibrancy of both mythic-Israel, now-Israel, and spiritual Israel . We’ll work together to find the location that best resonates with your family’s story.
