Meet Rabbi Reuben Modek

Reuben Modek is an Israeli-born rabbi who served North American communities for over 30 years. As a spiritual guide, and life-coach Rabbi Modek supports inner development for individuals and groups. He had practiced a diversity of Western and Eastern disciplines from Tantra Yoga and Tai Chi to Co-Counselling and Jungian Men’s Work. Rabbi Modek crafts heartfelt personal Bar and Bat Mitzvah ceremonies, blending alignment and Jewish wisdom. Known for his calm presence, he helps families profoundly experience Israel as a living context for both Jewish and universal spirituality.

Rabbi Modek did a great job preparing Jake for the ceremony. Jake had a thorough overview of Judaism’s history, and traditions. Jake wanted to learn Hebrew. With the Rabbi’s skillful instruction and much practice he actually was able to accomplish it. The ceremony was super meaningful for both Jake and our family. We also appreciated it that with Rabbi Modek we could “break the mold”, because our family had stepped away from conventional religion, and chose to creatively reconnect when Jake was already 17.

Rabbi Modek was very accommodating. Having previously not engaged myself in Judaism and not having a traditional ceremony until the age of 17, my experience here was very meaningful. Rabbi Modek did an excellent job of educating me about Judaism and teaching me Hebrew, making this a fun and enjoyable process. Our daughter found Rabbi Modek online and the two of them immediately hit it off. The Rabbi worked with her, her schedule and her Hebrew abilities. My son’s BM ceremony was unique and memorable. It was held at the historical mountaintop of Masada, overlooking the Dead Sea. The Perfect location. Rabbi Modek made our son’s ceremony personalized, intimate and stress free. He created a program that we could easily follow along and made sure that everyone who attended the ceremony took an active part in it. We highly recommend Rabbi Modek to anyone looking for an amazing Bar Mitzvah experience in Israel.

How do we start the planning process?

It begins with a simple, heart-to-heart conversation. We’ll schedule a discovery call to discuss your family’s vision, values, and the young person’s journey. Then we’ll schedule your child’s weekly video conference sessions with Rabbi Modek to learn and prepare. Based on our conversations we’ll plan a ceremony that transmits your spiritual values along with Jewish wisdom to the young person. Our Israeli travel agent will help you plan your trip itinerary and logistics.
